啊~刚才看了下酷的的侧边栏标签,居然C开头的有CeeY没有Common /ll,这太不妥了,所以我认为搞个Common是相当有必要的.
这是一张很牛逼的专辑,这个时候的Jay Dee和Common都很强大,正因为比较牛逼所以很多人都写过这个了,酷先生说他认为最难写的就是这种,要写出风格写出特色太难了.不过我认为对于一个第二次写这东西的兄弟这是很简单的,我不需要要求太高,只要能写出平均水平我就很满意了(因为前一个实在是有点逊/gg).

1989年墨西哥女作家 Laura Esquivel写了一部小说叫做《Like Water For Chocolate》，1992年这部小说被改编后搬上了大荧幕，国内的翻译叫做《浓情巧克力》或者《巧克力情人》，说到这里大家应该有印象了，电影的名气要比小说，甚至比Common的专辑还要大得多，Common也是因为看了这部电影才给专辑起了这个名字的：
“Actually the album is named after a movie of the same title. In the movie the main character was a really good cook. She would always be cooking for people. Whenever she would cook, she would really put a lot of emotion into it. So when people would eat her cooking, they were able to feel the same emotions she felt while cooking it. You feel me? So this is the same thing. I put all my heart, my mind and my rawness into these tracks. So I hope that people can feel that when they listen to the album.”
对于专辑名字的说话还有另一种理解是根据封面来的,一张老照片，一位黑人女性站在Colored Only的柜台前领饮料，like water for chocolate，很容易让人联想到黑色的chocolate所指的就是是黑人，而这张专辑便是给他们的清澈的water。
标题和封面都很有意思, 现在让我们听歌吧.
1. Time Travelin’ (A Tribute to Fela)
很少听到这么动听的intro,如果这算intro的话,非洲的打击乐和小号飘出来,鼓声一响就动起来了呀.Fela是谁?Fela Anikulapo Kuti,尼日利亚音乐家,Afrobeat创始人,(Afrobeat应该是某种非洲与当代音乐的融合吧,有求知欲的童鞋放狗吧)HMV将其列为20世纪最有影响力的100位音乐人之一 ,1997年去世,带着对老前辈的敬意,common带你时空旅行.
2. Heat
Hot Shit! 还有比这个更适合作为第一曲的么?jay dee也上来说了几句,恩,很好,只有副歌的几句~
3. Cold Blooded
热了咩?换个冷的,这首是The Roots的兄弟制作的,但是并不输给Jay Dee,Common开始渐入佳境了
4. Dooin It
这首好~!,就爱听这样的,Common火力十足呀

5. The Light
请问你听到这个能不鸡动咩?你应该听到前奏就摆起来呀,我太喜欢Common唱这种小情歌了~,好歌是不需要形容的,你必须得听!
6. Funky For You
这次Common扮演了一次DJ,但是他开始呀uh字韵了,我认为这和MC Hip的了字韵简直有异曲同工之妙~
7. The Questions
这首也好~!创意好,康老师开始提问,请回答,Mos Def也来问了几个问题,就是要让你思考.

看标题就知道是讲故事的了~Common演Pimp MC lyte演Hoe,有点意思

标题貌似是某种印度香的意思,歌也有点飘,还成~

Slum Village的兄弟来了,但是我不太喜欢这首.
13. Payback Is A Grandmother
奶奶来电话了,说她被泥格抢了,当然最后这几个泥格也没有好下场的~,有个问题,为什么最后的对讲机会说一句someone get Prince Paul on the phone please? 如果ohhla的歌词没有错的话.
14. Geto Heaven Pt. 2
整个后半张都是比较清新的,这首也是,疗伤歌曲~,比较美好~
15. A Song For Assata
也是个tribute,Assata Shakur是黑人民权组织黑豹党的骨干力量,1973年被枪杀,Cee-Lo的hook是亮点.
16. Pops Rap III . . . All My Children
Common的老爸又来了~,每次听到老爸的演讲我就想有这么酷的老爸,儿子能不酷么,虽然我老爸也很酷,但是他是不会跟着beat演讲和讨论嘻嘻呀,不过紧接着第二个想法就是,妈妈的,我这么酷,我儿子肯定也牛逼的~
总结:整张专辑的成功跟Jay Dee,,?ustlove,D’angelo和键盘手James Poyser的功劳是分不开的, 在这一干兄弟的保驾护航下,Common也做了新的尝试,2首使用类似于电影手法的叙事歌曲让人印象深刻,The Light十分动听,The Questions这样有创意的歌也十分有趣,总之好歌还是占大部分的,但是后半段有点太没有激情了,也有的歌比较老套,比较容易在你第二遍听的时候被无情的跳过~~
